I literally just received them yesterday. I’ve just got some of the cx bullets to compare with the ttsx i’ve been using. Anyone have any experience this season with the new hornady cx compared to the barnes ttsx in terms of terminal performance?

I don’t have experience at the range you are talking about, but i have used barnes ttsx at more normal hunting range— lrx are supposed to expand at lower velocity than. Waiting to test the new cx 190.30 cal on a wyoming black bear in may. Barnes makes a pretty good bullet, but in my personal experience the hammer is more accurate, and just as, if not more deadly than the ttsx. It could be the cx is alloyed to make it softer than gmx.
I've been shooting b140 barnes ttsx over 79.5 grains of viht n165 but i picked up some of hornady's cx bullets to try. Anybody out here have any comparison. The cx's feature the heat shield tip, have a marginally higher bc, and if hornady is to be believed, the cx is. Excellent accuracy, good expansion, good penetration.

Known for accuracy and deep penetration, this is a really great bullet for those that want to cross over to bigger species such as black bear and elk, and for taking angled shot. You will most likely get similar results. The accuracy is outstanding and great velocity from a 300 prc and n570 with lapua brass. When i can find some, gonna do some testing in my 7 prc… hoping to test this bullet out for spring bear.
Use the 168 ttsx, 175 lrx, 180 cx or hammers. Barnes are not likely pure copper either.
