Pictures Of Infected Mead ??? R

What worries me about the photos is the way it looks like its spiderwebbing in the middle( could just be the iphone photo resolution) which would be a good sign it's infected. I tried again yesterday, and it looks like i've got some sort of contamination (infection). This time i thought that.

Guys my mead is definitely infected how do I fix it. r/mead

Mine looks different, is it infected? Your batch is likely not infected. Generally speaking, these are pellicles, or they are some form of invisible infection.

I tried making cherry mead again (the first time i tried this it got infected).

If there’s white colored, bulbous spots covering the surface, or occasionally the bottom of your brewing vessel, then you may have a pellicle. The second picture is after day two nutrients. I’m not sure how to tell. Can anyone offer any advice?

Yeast will underperform for a number of reasons: To tell if mead has gone bad, you will need to pay attention to its smell, looks, taste, and ph level. There are a few ways of figuring out if your mead is infected or gone bad; Tough to say from the photo, but:

I brewed a sweet mead on february 24th, 2013, racked it to secondary on april 4th, 2013, and was getting ready to bottle it now (end of july).

I had been out of town for a few. I have had this mead aging for about 6 months and wanted to open a bottle for graduation but i am afraid it is infected.
